Rehab for Alcohol: Looking for a Place to Start?
Statistics Canada reveals that about 20% of Canadians engage in heavy drinking. It’s a common story: what starts as social drinking can sometimes take a turn, affecting your health, relationships, and peace of mind.
Beyond the emotional toll, alcohol misuse can lead to serious health issues, including increased risks of cancer, heart disease, and stroke.
We’re here to offer a guiding hand with our leading alcohol rehab program, tailored to help you reclaim control and start a new chapter.
Our Alcohol Treatment Process
Medical Detox
This process, which usually lasts between 2 and 7 days, involves medical supervision to manage withdrawal symptoms safely. Medications may be used to help ease these symptoms.
Detox is essentially preparing you for further treatment, making it easier to engage in and benefit from longer-term recovery programs.
Personalized Therapy: We tailor our approach based on your unique needs.
Some common approaches include:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT): It focuses on identifying and reshaping the negative thoughts and behaviours that have contributed to your addiction. In CBT, you’ll learn more effective ways to handle stress and develop crucial skills to prevent a relapse.
- Family counselling: This therapy style involves including close family and friends in your sessions when suitable. Substance abuse often affects not only the individual but also their nearest relationships. Bringing loved ones into the therapy process helps mend and strengthen these bonds. Additionally, it addresses any issues that might arise from your drinking, offering a comprehensive approach to healing and rebuilding.
- Integrated treatment for co-occurring conditions Dual diagnosis is also known as comorbidity or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder. Our comprehensive and integrated method focuses on alcohol dependency along with any co-existing mental health disorders or additional substance use issues. Doing so ensures a complete and holistic path towards healing and wellness.
Aftercare
This is the final step towards preventing relapse and getting on track.
It involves various social and medical support services customized to your specific needs. This includes rehabilitation programs, ongoing therapy for continued mental and emotional support, regular health check-ups, and participation in community support groups tailored to your unique journey.

The Four Stages of Alcohol Addiction:
At-risk stage: In this initial phase, alcohol consumption is mostly social or used as a stress reliever. However, a tolerance to alcohol begins to build, subtly escalating consumption.
Early alcohol use disorder: This stage is marked by noticeable changes: experiencing blackouts, drinking alone or secretly, and frequent thoughts about alcohol starting to surface.
Mid-stage alcohol use disorder: Alcohol consumption becomes unmanageable, severely disrupting daily life, including work, family, and finances. Health starts to deteriorate, with organ damage becoming evident in medical tests.
End-stage alcohol use disorder: Alcohol dominates life at this stage, overshadowing basic needs like food and personal relationships. Severe health issues, profound despair, and life-threatening complications emerge.
If your drinking is adversely affecting your life, it might be the right moment to explore professional treatment options. If you believe you fit the profile for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) or alcohol addiction, starting with a conversation about your alcohol consumption with your doctor is a wise move.
