Our Treatment Process

Step 1: Detoxification

Your journey towards recovery begins with detoxification. This initial phase involves safely removing substances from your body.

It’s more than a physical cleanse; it’s a preparatory step for the psychological healing that follows in therapy.

We understand the challenges of withdrawal symptoms and provide medically assisted detox when necessary, ensuring a safe and more comfortable transition away from dependency.

Personalized Therapy: We tailor our approach based on your unique needs.

Some common approaches include:

  • Individual therapy: Our experts aid in helping you learn more about your addiction and its impacts and learn to identify & cope with triggers. This one-on-one engagement with a professional fosters personal insights and strategies for long-term recovery.
  • Family counselling: Family therapy sessions provide a space for collective healing. This includes understanding addiction dynamics and how family can support your recovery.

Group therapy: Group sessions at our center blend shared experiences, peer support, and skill-building, catered to specific recovery stages and challenges. This environment offers valuable social support, helping you learn from and alongside others on similar paths.

Aftercare: What Happens After Your Stay At CFHH?

The final step in your treatment focuses on life beyond the rehab center.

Aftercare planning is a critical component, significantly reducing the chances of relapse.

It includes a blend of social and medical support services tailored to your needs — from transitional housing options like sober living homes to continuous therapy, medical follow-ups, and community support groups.

This comprehensive plan ensures you are equipped to handle real-life situations and triggers post-treatment.

Why Choose CFHH?

Accreditation: Our center proudly holds accreditation from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), a mark of trust and reliability in our services. This accreditation, alongside our certification by the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers, underscores our commitment to the highest standards of care and ethical practice. We are honoured to be recognized as one of Vaughan’s top three addiction treatment centers.

Evidence-based treatment: It sets us apart from other addiction treatment centres. This approach, rooted in scientific research and proven effectiveness, ensures you receive the most advanced and effective care tailored to your unique journey toward recovery.

Family involvement: We deeply understand the crucial role of family members in the recovery process. So, our experts include family members to ensure a holistic approach to recovery, fostering support and mutual understanding that is crucial for long-term success and healing.

Continuing care: Our aftercare services extend for 12 months post-treatment, personalized to meet your specific needs and challenges. The initial year after treatment is critical, and our expert team is dedicated to guiding, motivating, and supporting you as you readjust to daily life.

Emphasis on mental health: We understand that effective addiction treatment hinges on addressing underlying mental health issues. Our client-centric approach focuses on mental well-being rather than just addiction severity, enabling us to tailor treatments to individual needs. This approach, a non-12-Step methodology centred on mental health, is vital to our high success rates in addiction recovery.

FAQs

How long is your program?

At Centres for Health and Healing, we offer programs of various lengths to suit your recovery needs. These include 30-day, 45-day, 60-day, and 90-day options designed to provide the right support and treatment intensity.

Do you help with concurrent mental health conditions?

At our center, we recognize that addiction often coexists with other conditions like anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behaviour, and personality disorders, as well as anger, shame, and bipolar disorder. Therefore, we emphasize a dual-diagnosis approach in our treatment, addressing both the addiction and any co-occurring mental health issues simultaneously.

How does substance addiction start?

Addiction often begins as a response to trauma, where individuals seek comfort in substances following overwhelming or terrifying events or situations. This repeated turning to substances as a means of coping can, unfortunately, lead to adverse outcomes, such as a loss of self-worth, breakdown of trust, and social isolation.
