What to expect when you first reach out
Reaching out for help from a professional can feel overwhelming, especially if you are already struggling with anxiety, depression, fatigue, substance use, or another addiction.
At Centres for Health and Healing, we understand the courage it takes to seek support and can answer any questions you may have about the intake process, as well as offer you and your loved ones advice and guidance whenever you need it.

Whether you are seeking treatment for yourself or supporting a loved one through the process, it’s normal to feel worried or unsure. You might wonder: What should I say? What happens next? Is treatment really necessary?
You may also be concerned about confidentiality or what others might think. Please know that your privacy and safety are always our top priorities.
All information is handled with the strictest confidentiality, so you and your family can feel secure and confident about reaching out.
It’s completely normal to have questions and concerns.
Remember, you’re not alone.
Help is available, and recovery is possible with the right type of care and treatment approach.

A simple, supportive intake process

That’s why our intake process is simple, transparent, and supportive.
From your very first call to your first day of admission, our caring and experienced team will support you every step of the way.
We aim to help both individuals and their families feel safe and confident throughout the intake process and beyond.
To help alleviate any concerns you may have, below is a detailed guide of what to expect from the first moment you pick up the phone and begin making your initial inquiries at our rehab centre in Toronto, to the first day of your admission.
Starting the process
The first step is simply reaching out. There are a few ways to contact us, including by phone (+ 1-888-235-5528), by email at admin@cfhh.ca, or through our secure online booking form on our website.
You or your family member will not be obligated to share any personal details you’re not yet comfortable discussing.
There is no pressure or expectation for you to begin treatment until you feel fully confident and ready.
Your first call
Your initial call with us won’t be overwhelming or overly detailed.
Our intake coordinators are trained to listen and provide a psychologically safe environment so you can safely explore your options.
This conversation is your opportunity to learn more about our team and our treatment approach, and to ask any questions about your or your loved one’s needs.
If what we discuss aligns with your treatment needs and goals, we’ll talk about availability, timing, and possible next steps.
A client- and family-led approach
Our approach is always client-led, grounded in trauma-informed principles and the highest standards of safety.
We offer clear, compassionate guidance so you and your family feel empowered to make informed decisions about your health and well-being, no matter your circumstances.
Support throughout intake
If you choose to proceed with treatment, a personal intake coordinator will be assigned to you as your main point of contact until your admission.
After you begin treatment, our clinical staff will take over your care and will always be available to listen and provide support and guidance whenever you or your family need it.
Booking a tour of our centre can help alleviate anxiety
Touring our centre is also an option.
If it helps, you’re very welcome to arrange a visit to our treatment centre, where a member of our clinical team, who will either be Chris, our centre’s program director, or Lucas, our executive director, will guide you through a personal tour.
Another key reason for arranging a tour is to enable Chris and Lucas to further clinically assess your situation. This assessment allows us to provide more tailored guidance to you and your family and to collaboratively begin treatment planning, which includes discussing potential therapeutic approaches and addressing specific care needs before admission.
Tours can be very reassuring for individuals and families, as they give them a sense of the environment, let them view a prospective room, and even enable them and their loved ones to meet members of the wider clinical team. Many clients find great comfort in having a tour before committing to treatment, as it helps them feel more informed and ready to take things to the next level. It could help you or your loved one, too.

Financial considerations
We know that financial matters are often a concern for many families and individuals considering residential treatment. Many clients have different questions about fees and finances, the most common being, “How much does inpatient treatment cost?”
Rest assured, our team of coordinators will clearly explain treatment fees and payment options and can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance provider (if needed). We accept multiple forms of payment, which we can discuss directly once you make initial contact with our treatment centre in Toronto.
Preparing for your admission
After deciding to begin treatment, your intake coordinator will help you schedule an admission date and guide you on what to bring, such as personal items or documents, to make your transition smoother and more comfortable.
