Inpatient Treatment

Embarking on the journey towards recovery from alcohol or drug addiction is a challenging endeavour, often likened to scaling an arduous, relentless mountain with unforeseen challenges at every turn.

Recognizing this struggle, it’s reassuring to know that a spectrum of treatment options exists, among them being inpatient treatment at specialized alcohol or drug rehabilitation centres.

If you or a loved one is wrestling with the grasp of alcohol or drug addiction, seeking guidance and support from healthcare professionals is crucial. Early intervention can offer invaluable insights into understanding and managing addiction, potentially averting the long-term physical and emotional repercussions of substance abuse.

Mental Health Treatment

Mental health treatment is a multi-step process that involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a mental disorder. It typically involves a physical and psychological assessment that covers your general health, medical history, and a psychological evaluation. Your doctor may ask you to fill in a mental health questionnaire and do a blood test to determine if there is an underlying physiological condition.

Mental illness is a complex disease and you might not get the correct diagnosis after your first appointment. The next step is to develop a mental health treatment plan which covers any medicine needed, the best therapy approach, and whether you require inpatient or outpatient support.

Medical Detox

Medical detoxification or detox involves the safe management of withdrawal symptoms from drugs and alcohol. It is done in a clinical environment under medical supervision and you may be given medication to help you cope with uncomfortable symptoms while your body adjusts to no drugs or alcohol in your system.

Medical detox is usually the first step in an addiction treatment programme and should be followed up with inpatient or outpatient counselling.

Intensive Online Outpatient Recovery & Mental Wellness

Embarking on the road to recovery from addiction and mental health challenges can be a lengthy journey. Within this journey, the support and guidance provided by outpatient treatment programs play a pivotal role in maintaining recovery progress and fostering overall wellness.

This includes intensive online outpatient recovery, a dynamic and accessible approach to treatment that allows individuals to continue their daily lives while receiving crucial therapeutic support.

At Centres for Health and Healing, we recognize the importance of personalized treatment programs, outpatient support, and continuous aftercare, ensuring individuals have the tools and assistance they need to thrive in their recovery journey.

Individual Therapy

Individualized treatment is a fundamental component of addiction and mental health recovery, offering tailored approaches to overcome a range of challenges like substance use disorder, behavioural addictions, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. It shifts away from the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, focusing on personalized treatment plans that cater to an individual’s unique needs, requirements, and treatment objectives.

By addressing the intricate interplay of factors contributing to addiction, it aims to guide individuals toward enduring recovery, emphasizing their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Understanding the multifaceted benefits of an individualized treatment program can empower individuals in their journey towards a healthier, substance-free life.

Group Therapy

Our group therapy sessions are delivered in a variety of interesting formats, facilitated by our trained therapists. They offer a supportive environment in which clients can cover a wide range of issues and gain valuable insights from sharing their experiences with others.

Group therapy is a powerful technique that is known to strengthen and sustain the recovery process. Confidentiality is always our top priority, alongside objectivity and a non-judgmental approach.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy at Centres for Health and Healing

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is a type of ‘talking therapy’ and is a modified version of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT).

It was originally adapted to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD), but is now used effectively to manage a range of additional mental health conditions, including substance use disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and some eating disorders.

The main aim of DBT is to promote healthy balance and avoid the all-or-nothing styles of thinking common in individuals with personality disorders and other mental health issues typically resulting from intense emotions.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is one of the most popular and empirically supported therapy options for treating addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive behaviours and sleep disorders.

At Centres for Health and Healing, we frequently use it alongside other therapeutic interventions as a valuable resource to support each client’s recovery journey.

Our highly-trained therapists work collaboratively with each client to customize CBT techniques to meet their specific needs.

Sublocade Program

Sublocade is a medication that allows people to continue with their lives while receiving the appropriate opioid addiction treatment.

While it is a very effective treatment for opioid addiction, not many people have heard of Sublocade, and those who have, may not completely understand how it works.

The medication’s effectiveness is partly due to the binding of specific receptors called mu-receptors in the brain that prevent the same ”high” from occurring.

The result is less temptation to take opioid drugs like fentanyl or heroin and a profoundly less pleasurable effect if relapse does occur.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Treatment

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after a person experiences a traumatic event or series of traumatic events.

Studies reveal that nearly half of Americans undergo at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. While many individuals grapple with PTSD symptoms following distressing experiences, research shows that only a small portion of people actually develop PTSD.

If you or a loved one are struggling to cope after a traumatic event or suspect PTSD symptoms, seeking guidance from a mental health professional is crucial to receive the necessary support and treatment.

You don’t have to endure this journey in silence—reach out to our compassionate team today to discuss treatment options and chart the way forward.

Mindfulness Therapy - Centre For health And Healing

Mindfulness Therapy

Mindfulness forms an essential part of dialectical therapy and can be used to complement cognitive therapy, helping clients develop a deeper sense of awareness.

Through mindfulness techniques, clients can learn to pay more attention to the present moment and observe their thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations without judgment.

At Centres for Health and Healing, our therapy specialists support each client in developing the necessary skills and level of self-discipline required to simply focus on the current moment.

Mindfulness groups are held regularly to help practise and promote mindfulness techniques, in addition to our bespoke one-on-one sessions.

Family Support

At Centres for Health and Healing, we firmly believe that mental health issues, including addiction, not only affect the individual experiencing them but also significantly impact their family members. The involvement of family and close friends can be vital to effective treatment, ongoing support, and long-term recovery.

Our family therapy sessions typically use a variety of techniques, including CBT, solution-focused therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychoeducation.

Our trained therapists will select whichever approach best addresses each family’s specific challenges and unique family dynamics.

Aftercare and Support

A bespoke, effective aftercare plan is essential to recovery success once primary treatment has been completed.

Based on each client’s specific needs and issues, a support structure needs to be put in place to ensure motivation and momentum are maintained as clients transition back to everyday life.

In addition to creating a detailed aftercare plan, our team may refer clients to a range of services or suitable professionals to guarantee they have the highest level of support for the duration of their recovery journey.
