Sue Chahal
Counsellor
Sue has spent her career working in social services and has developed a strong skill set in delivering person-focused counselling and case management. She has 15 years of experience in social services and five years of voluntary services at organizations like Children’s Aid Services and shelters for women, children, and the homeless.
Sue graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and post-graduate training in Counselling from George Brown. This training prepared her to work with diverse populations, including women and children who have experienced violence, homeless populations, and those living with addictions and mental health concerns. Beyond this, Sue has experience working with youth in schools and has helped develop anti-racism/diversity frameworks for the school system itself.
Sue uses a client-centred approach combined with “tough love” to help provide individuals with the right tools and strategies to seek out and lead healthy lives. Using active listening skills combined with compassion and empathy, she seeks to offer guidance to her clients in their decision-making process.
