Sidrah Mir


Sidrah is part of the team of Counsellors at CFHH.

She was born in Nairobi (Kenya) and lived there for about three years until she moved to Baghdad (Iraq) and spent a further three years there. From Iraq, Sidrah moved to Geneva (Switzerland) for about six years before making the move to Richmond Hill, Ontario, where she has been residing ever since.

Sidrah’s great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through mental health and/or addiction experiences. She supports children, adults, the elderly and families to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can grow as individuals. She believes that achieving mental, physical and social well-being can help lead to a more prosperous life.

Sidrah specializes in supporting individuals and groups to overcome obstacles relating to mental health and/or addictions. She also specializes in designing and implementing tailor-made solutions for individual needs, and does not believe in “one size fits all” solutions.

She has been trained in a range of modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, Psychological First Aid, Suicide Prevention, Motivational Interviewing, Mental Health and Addictions, as well as many other specialities.

Sidrah is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and also holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Social Work from York University, as well as a college diploma in Social Service Work from Seneca College.

In her spare time Sidrah enjoys spending time with loved ones, travelling to different destinations, painting, listening to music, dancing, spending time in nature, playing video games, yoga and doing anything creative.
