Riverside Recovery is a retreat-style residential facility, offering homely accommodation with a camp-like ambience, and an optimal environment for recovery. Located in rural Alberta, beside the James River, we can offer the privacy and security clients need to feel comfortable on the road to their new life.
At Riverside Recovery, we know that each clientโs needs are unique. This is why our programmes (30, 45 and 90-day) are all personalised and encourage the development of life skills, structure and healthy routines.

Personalized Treatment Plans
The secret to our high success rate at Centres for Health and Healing is a personalized treatment plan for all our clients. Every individual who enters our recovery facilities has their own story and set of circumstances so itโs important to tailor any treatment to meet their individual needs.
Every treatment plan at CFHH typically includes a structured program for six days per week, combining different evidence-based therapies and holistic care to guarantee a successful and lasting recovery. These include psychoeducational and process group therapy, one-on-one counselling sessions, small group therapy, mindfulness and family therapy.
Spectacular views and serenity
Riverside Recovery is a true paradise, with spectacular views and all the serenity that comes with being in the countryside.
The beautifully treed camp is spread across more than 27 acres, with numerous buildings and walking trails for guests to enjoy.
The main building has numerous meeting rooms, a large dining area and a gathering place, as well as two levels of dorm-type rooms with three bunk beds per room. There are also numerous shared bathrooms on each floor.
On the grounds of the property, there are also individual cabins, some old and rustic, others more modern.
In the outdoors, guests can make use of the baseball diamond, soccer field, volleyball court, auditorium, campground, tuck shop, heated shower house and auditorium. The round auditorium is very large and is used for conferences, church services etc.
On the eastern corner of the facility, there is a small riding arena with barn and box stalls for horses, while on the opposite side, to the west, there is a pond with a boathouse that houses 18 canoes and paddleboats for recreational use.
To top it all off, there is also a mini golf course.
