The Individualized Treatment Plan is offered to create personalized plan that the client and psychotherapist work on collaboratively after an initial biopsychosocial assessment has been completed. At CFHH, we believe that complementary therapies enrich mental, physical and spiritual health and enable the whole person to reconnect with themselves. The aim of using complementary therapies is to optimize the person as a whole, that they can continue their lives without the need for mood-altering drugs or behaviours.
Many complementary therapies include alternative natural health approaches to support mind and body practices such as acupuncture, massage therapy, homeopathic and naturopathic approaches.
Complementary and holistic therapies
We offer the following complementary therapies to patients depending on assessed need and availability:
What Is Trauma Therapy?
Trauma therapy is a type of mental health treatment that therapist use to help people overcome psychological trauma. A traumatic event is defined as one in which you perceive a threat to your life, bodily integrity, or sanity. The other component of the definition is your reaction to the event or situation. If you can cope with the event, even if it is a serious threat, it isn’t trauma. Trauma occurs when your ability to handle the event is comprised.
At CFHH, we take a multi-pronged approach to treating trauma, knowing that it often takes a strategic combination of therapies to provide the best possible treatment and results for our patients. Our team is experienced in crafting unique treatment programs that help patients deal with trauma. The best path forward is to find out what type of therapy the counsellor uses to treat trauma patients.
Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle nurturing lens. This is characterized mainly by “acceptance.” As you can imaging, these are key focus points for clients dealing with mental health and addiction issues.
Our Mindful Mental Health program teaches clients the need to learn to accept individual life experiences. It shows clients how to observe who they were being, how to modify unhelpful behaviors, and enhance lifesaving ones. It teaches clients now to make a pause before you impulsively react, which keeps clients living in active addiction and instability.
After care is a vital component of any successful treatment plan, in some way’s aftercare plays in larger role in the long-term success of an individual’s recovery then the residential stay itself.
At CFHH, you deserve a lot of credit for completing your addiction treatment, but this is just the beginning of the recovery journey. CFHH offers aftercare services with 12 months of aftercare with all our treatment plans. Staying sober during this the first six months to a year can be difficult. CFHH will help you along the way. Our proven addiction rehab program gives you the tools to beat your addiction.
At CFHH we firmly believe that addiction and mental health are not simply an issue for the individual suffering but the family as well. As a family member you are also one of the client’s number one supports. Our family program is offered every Sunday for family members to get involved with their loved one’s recovery by having an opportunity to learn in a group setting how the recovery process works. Our family program allows families to understand more about what your loved one is experiencing and how to better support them through the journey of their recovery.
